I don't think birth certificate is a required document for anyone. I certainly did not submit a birth certificate at all, neither for me or my spouse.

No, they use your passport for confirming that. If needed they can ask you for your birth certificate later, but in most cases they don't.

Still there are many people saying that if we dont upload birth certificate.. There could be a rejection. So wanted to be sure..

There is no harm in providing the Birth Certificate... if you have one or can get it then go ahead...

I am hopeful that someone, who hadn't provided BC but has the PR, may better be able to suggest...
