I'm unable to get my birth certificate from my native country Pakistan. The place where i'm living has no any embassy of Pakistan. I did contact with Pakistani embassy in Los Angeles, USA and they confirmed me for issuance of birth certificate. My question is, would CIC accept that birth certificate issued by Embassy in USA + while i'm going to get from one other country. If any Pakistani is reading this post, please reply me his/her opinions too. Thanks

Dear Applicant,

Thanks for query. I think nothing is mentioned on the website about the birth certificate and its source. It can be from any source such as Hospital where you have borned, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Nadra or Pakistan High Commission.

The latest news is that now NADRA is issuing the birth certificates. To make it easy if you can get hold of your hospital birth certificate even and get it international notarized from Pakistan then it will do the job as well. Definitely they will match your date of birth and place of birth with your passort and matriculation certificate (only certificate which has date of birth and a solid proof.).

You can get hold of birth certificate from any of the above mentioned sources do not waste too much time and getting tensed.

Get back to me for any other suggestions as I am also gathering the docs.

Cheers

As long as it is issued by an authority of Pakistan that is allowed to issue such documentation, it should be okay. The fact that you live in Peru, Canada will understand that LA is probably your servicing High Commission. Furthermore, the date on the BC will probably 2009 (not the date of birth but when they stamp it). so CIC will see that it has been issued recently and that since you live in Peru, it makes sense to get it from LA high commission. just my thoughts.

Hi KHANBOY,

Thanks for your input. What is the basic problem is, my birth was in a town and there still muncipality is using manual registration. I hope you know better situation too, I just gave them call and one guy replied me, i must be in person there for getting my certificate, he even couldnt understand that what means by living abraod, anyhow...

I contacted embasy of pakistan in Los Angeles, they told me they can issue birth certifcate, they sent me one form and needed copy of pakistani passport and national id. This was good new, because one basic problem i have, my name is not completed on birth certificate and date of birth is 22/09 instead of 22/10. So even i need to write one letter with explanation why i had these error to embassy.... but i'm unable to get birth certificate from Pakistan. Thats why i was aksing, if you think Birth certificate from a USA/Pakistani embassy would be accepted by CIC or they may request again orignal certificate from Pakistan Muncipality only. Thanks for your input, im waiting for your reply.

Good luck with your tramits.

Thanks Rupeshhari, yes in whole usa , those are only 2 pakistani embassies i guess which holding authoriry for issuance of birth certificaes, one is in Houstan and other in Los Angeles. Embassy from Houstan forwarded me to Embassy of Pakistan in Argentina, they advise me to contact them for this kind of certificate as they represent to Peru, i called Argentina embassy even before this, then again and they confirmed me, they have any authority and even they never issue this kind of certificates to any one. So now yesterday i got email from LA and they confirmed me, they can issue Birth certificates. I gonna get this and hope CIC wont make any problem, as your state above. Thanks

Dear Applicant,

Thanks. I think you can get the birth certificate from Pakistan High commission if its easy and I am pretty sure that will be acceptable. According to my knowledge even you apply from high commission they have NADRA office there. Please ring them and check with them as I am sure they will give you proper info.

Only NADRA and Local Municipal Corporation can do that these days. Regarding error in Date of Birth and name, do correct it at your earliest otherwise you will be in pain.

Canadian High Commission will accept any docs for birth Certificate as I told you even from your Hospital. Its really easy to get hold from the Hospital if you can and you need not to be present even there. Frankly speaking to the local municipal office as well, I know what that person working means that he does not understand you are living abroad. Just send someone with a packet or sweets and he will do everything for you even with correct date of birth, name etc etc. Apart from that keep and eye on Police Certificate because you will need it from Pakistan (I got recently so I can tell you the procedure these days). All you need is sincere friend or family member back in home country who can go out of the way for you or help you in all these issues.

Which is your town in Pakistan?

I hope this will help and if any more suggestions needed then please do not hesitate to ask me.

Cheers
