We are also having same issue, me and my husband both don't have birth certificate as it was never require before but we do have our school leaving certificate. Some where I read that if you have 10th grade mark-sheet which has birth-date printed on it than it can work. Let me know if you have any proper solution, I am also looking for solution.

Second thing also same like you, In my passport I have one addition letter -- like Shiv and Shiav.
I don't know this can create any issue or not I am also looking for solution on this.

Please let me know if you find any trusted and proper solution for your both queries.

As far as I know and I am 99.99% sure of that you need any civil status record that shows your full details (name, lastname, parent & mother names, place & date of birth), it doesn't need to be specifically called birth certificate

Express Entry documents doesn't include birth certificate of primary applicant or dependent. However, CIC requests for child's birth certificate. May be they might ask in future after the submission of documents. But isn't part of documents requested by CIC after ITA.

For all the applicants who are residing in Canada can obtain birth certificate through Indian Consulate. Because I have applied for myself ! All you need is your original passport and work permit !

I dont remember where I read but for upfront medical exam some clinics might ask for birth certificate " this situation might be rare"
In Canada BLS will deal with all these type of services through Indian Consulate.

Are you mentioning about certificate for the date of birth issued by BLS? If that's the doc, I am not sure it's valid. People had this discussion earlier.

Bro, Bls will not issue any certificate but it will take the responsibility to get the certificate issued by Indian High Commision (Indian consulate or Indian embassy) which is valid to my knowledge.

Generally accepted only for applicants from India, as long as full name, DOB, parents' names are on it... Certificates of birth issued by the Embassy / Consulate are not accepted...

As mentioned in the above thread: it is better to have attested document with birth dates on it(ex: SSC, MRO birth certificate, affidivit etc) + Birth certificate from Indian consulate via BLS + legal documents.

Well my case is different, my nationality is indian but i was born in middle east where they dont issue birth certificate so my BC was issued by Indian Embassy right from the begining. since I lost that I have to go through a series of painful processes. Now I have English translated version of my BC from canada + BC from Indian consulate by BLS.
If CIC reject's this doc I dnt no wat are my options :(

Yes Bro, that is what I meant. BLS plays a third party to process the docs at IHC.
