Hi All,

I am planning to apply for PR in experienced class. I was adopted at the age of 5. My original parents are no more alive. Now, my birth certificate is having my original parents name and my passport and other documents contains my adopted parents name. I understand that birth certificate is a mandatory document to apply for PR. Please advice me how to approach this issue and what are all the supporting documents I need to provide while applying for PR.

Appreciate your help as I am completed confused with this situation.

Do you have adoption papers?

Thanks for your Immediate response.

yes I am having gazette reference number using which i can get a copy of it. By the way, could you please eloborate on what should be the format of that document.

I don't know what that is

Basically it's similar to marriage situations: the female's birth certificate has a different name to the passport. A marriage certificate covers the reasons behind this so adoption papers will do the same in your situation,

Dear Krish,
I too adopted my daughter after my marriage and I got adoption papers made at civil court in India. My wife was divorcee and she had divorce papers and in which it was stated that she has full custody of daughter after divorce.Based on my marriage certificate and divorce deed ,I applied for adoption deed and got it.I sent that with my PR under CEC.Yesterday I got Passport request.Hope best for u.
