birdge work permit for Express entry

Hi , I am currently on a closed work permit and i have applied for my PR during the last week of November 2015. My current work permit ends in November 2016 and based on the number of days of processing for the work permit these days , i was planning to apply for an extension of my work permit. I am not sure if i should go for a closed work permit extension or a bridge work permit ( open work permit ) . Also heard the concept of BOWP is no longer available . Please clarify .

You can't apply for a BOWP until you are within 4 months of your current one expiring.
