For those who have been asking me questions related to my PR application, I'll answer them here:Hi folks, I just got CoPR yesterday (Oct 8th). Just want to share my process for your reference:
AOR: May 14th
Medical passed: May 20th
BIL: July 7th
Eligibility passed: Aug, 14th
Criminal passed: Oct 8th
Security passed: Oct 8th
CoPR: Oct 8th
As I already gave biometrics 4 years ago when applying study permit, I think I'm exempted from biometrics for PR application. However, my profile still showed that my biometrics is still required until yesterday, every other step got passed JUST IN 1 DAY.
For CoPR, as indicated in the letter, I dont have to land to activate PR status. I'm automatically a permanant resident since yesterday . Can't believe it
_ As the landing has been cancelled, they do not ask me to send off my passport. I just need to send them a copy of confirmation letter and 1 photo. Done!
_ However, before getting PR card, if I want to leave country, I need to apply PR travel document to make sure I can board on commercial flights returning to Canada
_ I already gave biometrics 4 years ago when applying for study permit, which turns into a luck to me during this pandemic. Some of you may not be required to do so before coming to Canada because you possible from a biometric-exempted country, my country is not on the list.
_ For the account update email, I did not get any of them till the day I get the confirmation letter. I think the system now is completely manually operated. So if you do not get any email, dont worry, your application are still being processed
