I read someones forum post where they mentioned that they got a call and after sc booked the appointment for them they asked sc agent to call their friend as well who then received the call next momemt.

Would anyone like to exchange numbers so when sc calls either one of us we can share the other persons info and prompt sc to call them, thereby creating a chain of people who are waiting for the call will start receiving the call through the chain.

Just trying to have some fun while experimenting for good.
Hey! I would be in for that. Lol

From receiving the phone call to giving biometrics, what was the entire process? Do they send confirmation email or give confirmation number for appointment date, time and other details? How long does it take? Is there any covid screening? Do they ask for appointment confirmation before letting you inside?
Sorry for so many questions, im just really curious/ impatient about this whole thing. Thanks!
You will receive a call from IRCC (no caller id/unknown no) for biometric appointment, they will ask some basic info and book you for nearest SC location/SC passport center with earliest/suitable date & time slot. You won't receive any confirmation email or details, its your responsibility to note down slot time and SC center address. You just have to be present there on given slot time by following instruction given on call. At the SC center, they may ask COVID related questions randomly to anyone (didn't ask in my case), your appointment detail such as app number and time slot then allow you to give biometric. It hardly takes 10-15 mins at center to complete the biometric process.

That seems a bit odd. Anyone can walk in and say they have an appointment then. If they dont give any confirmation, what is there to stop people from walking in?
You can try if you want...lol !! FYI, they have your application number, name and everything and they will cross check when you arrive at the center. So there's no chance you can just go in without appointment. Hope this is helpful!

Of course I wont try. But anyone can walk in and say I have an appointment. If they dont have the name on list he can just say that he received a call from an agent and it should be on the list, and if it isn't then maybe there's a miscommunication and maybe they can offer a new appointment or take the biometrics there. If I wasn't afraid of getting banned I would've definitely tried it.

They can only take biometrics if they have your file number sent to them by ircc. They recieve info from their head offiice about you and can take biometrics then only. They wont take it randomly. They know that people can do this so they must bebprepared

Hello everyone..
Today I received call from SC.
Agent booked an appointment at 5:45 PM.
I’m worried because closing time of SC is 4:00PM.
Anyone faced through this situation?
This is very common. I got call around 7:15 pm on October 16th. I gave my biometrics on 3rd November.

I got a call (Oct 30) and got appointment (Nov 18) at College st. in Toronto for 5:30, however agent advised to come earlier - around 4 PM.
So I came at around 4 PM, guy at the entrance checked my application number (crossed checked with BIL) and let me in. There was no queue, maybe 5 people inside (dealing with other than biometrics stuff) - took maybe 3 minutes in total to give my fingerprints and take a photo - that was it. On a ride back home I checked CIC page - biometrics information was updated right away on my PR application.
