My parents applied for online TRV 2 days ago and only my dad has the biometrics letter (he is the main applicant) my mom (accompying family member) has no letter yet though their cic account says that there is an update for the both of them. For my dad’s application no. It says it has new message which is his Biometrics Letter. Will it take few days for my mom to receive hers?

Thanks

My case is similar. I applied for visitor visa using a single application for me and my family.

Only myself (prinicpal applicant) and my wife have received the biometrics collection letter within 24 hours and have submitted our biometrics.

My dependent daughter (17 yrs) and dependent son (21 yrs) have not recieved the letters though their cic account says that there is an update for the both of them.

Already a week has passed since our application was submitted. How can we know the reasons for the delay of the other two family members.

I logged a call with VFS using the WebForm. They have recieved the request, but are yet to respond and could be because it is less than 5 days since logged.

Just in case anyone is intrested, we received the Biometrics request after a couple of weeks of logging in the VFS webForm request. One week after submission of biometrics for the missed out persons, we received the request to submit the passports.
There may be internal delays due to the strike or may have a lot of backlog, like it is in any other office. If your documentation is proper (Financials, reason for return and not stay back, etc.), you should get your visa (visitor in my case) from the consulate.

Hello everyone,

I recently submitted visitor visa applications for my wife and myself to Canada a few days ago. During the application process, I answered "NO" to the question asking if we had previously given biometrics. A family biometric fee of $170 was collected. Strangely, only I received the biometric request form to schedule an appointment. Upon checking my wife's application, it states that biometrics are not required for her.

Here's what is displayed in our application portal:

For me:
"We need your fingerprints to process your application. Please check your messages below for further details."
For my spouse:
"We do not need your fingerprints at this time. We will notify you if this changes."

My question is: If we apply for a family visitor visa, is it sufficient for only the principal applicant to provide biometrics?

If the answer is yes, then why was the fee collected for both of us?

Could someone please help me understand this situation? Thank you in advance.
