My wife had given her biometrics on april 11th at Santa Clara processing center in CA. We were waiting for a status update since then and had contacted IRCC multiple times through the web form. Today, 8th of May, we got an update to give biometrics again. The latest date we find for biometrics submission is 22nd of May. We had booked tickets for 22nd of May. Is there any way we can rectify this?

If you have given the biometrics, then you don't have to do it again. Send an email to your local IRCC office and also raise a CSE through webform explaining. Include the details about your last biometrics and application# / UCI.

Thanks for your reply. The reason they have explained is that
"
Unfortunately the fingerprints that were provided for your biometrics enrolment were of low quality and could not be used for your biometric assessment.
In order to continue with the processing of your application, you must undergo a new biometrics enrolment. A new Biometric Instruction Letter has been sent to you. If you did not receive this letter, please contact our office."

Its sad that the processing center responsible for fingerprint collection, is not ensuring proper quality of finger prints and us travellers are being penalized.

The apathy of the canadian visa processing center is apalling at the least.

Have they asked you to pay again?

You can request an 'emergency biometrics appointment' as this wait could delay your travel plan. Contact you visa application centre asap.

Can you please help clarify how to request this? I am not able to find this category in the website
If might have to call your VAC and ask if they have or explain your situation and request if they can accommodate that.
My country has VFS as the VAC which gives an option on the website itself but you would have to call yours and check. I am sorry.

Unfortunately, while the VAC may allow this (or may charge extra for this service, they even charge extra for "VIP waiting rooms"), the visa office won't expedite visa processing just because the OP has pending travel. IRCC tells applicants not to make travel arrangements until they have the visa in their passports. Many people have seen travel days come and go before the visa was issued.

I have contacted USCIS which does fingerprinting services here and they confirmed that they cannot schedule an earlier appointment. No help from other places either. Its frustrating that whent the fingerprinting agency does not do the job well and we, the people are penalized for the same.

It's not a penalty. They can't issue you a visa without biometrics. Are you suggesting that they should, just because the fingerprints didn't take?

The "low quality" of biometrics is known at the time of taking of biometrics. A turn around of 28 days to say the biometrics is of low quality is laughable and example of an ineffecient organization, atleast to me. Now, going ahead, and telling me that you have to start from scratch to give biometrics, without a preference over the dates, is apathy. Are you saying i should have an expert degree in biometrics, to determine its quality before i go to USCIS and give my biometrics?

Calm down, friend. Every GCMS notes I've seen include a visa officer's assessment of the quality of the biometrics. I'm willing to wager that the VAC has no clue whether or not they have any quality in the biometrics they're taking.

As to when the VAC can reschedule you - that's an issue for the VAC and not IRCC.

yes.. i understand.. its just plain bad luck that this has happened.. given that the visa processing center does not agree my case is an urgent case and also given that i do not have any other alternative dates for the appointments i have in canada in the given time frame, or in the near future, i forfeit my couple of thousand dollars in bookings :-(
