Biometrics Appointment and Waiting Time

Hi,

Our employer is filing our visa under global skills strategy (GSS) scheme. We are currently in bahamas and we may get appointment in New york or Jamaica. The standard waiting time for work permit under GSS is 2 weeks, however the employer is saying it may take 8-12 weeks? Anyone has any idea if GSS are processed faster?

Also, we are awaiting Police clearance certificate from our home country which may take another 3-4 weeks to come and our employer is saying that they will submit the application to IRCC once all the documents are submitted. Can you please advise if biometrics can be submitted before Police clearance certificate is provided?

Why you need Police clearance certificate ?
I have just submitted work permit application (under GTS LMIA), the law firm did not ask me for Police clearance certificate

Hi, im filing under GSS LMIA exempt intra company transfer. The lawyer has asked for police clearance certificate as it ia mandatory here. It may vary country to country. Where did you have your biometrics and any idea about the processing times?
