This bill doesn't get rid of the clauses that disallows officers from taking away the citizenship. Parliament have to move another bill to get rid of that clause.

I am not a con supporter, but calling 40 Senator unpopular would be unfair. It's politics & if you want to see how bills are opposed, look at US where Obama is unable to pass bills for years... Canada is a fantastic countries built on democratic values and these senators have the authority to reject or accept the bill. Good news is they won't, but they absolutely have all legal authority.
i dont care you con supporter or not, and you have no clue about politics, there is a big different between US senators and Canadian senators ,US senators has big value because they are elected by people and by hundred millions voter ,but Canadian senators are not,Con senators are living in gunboat centuries , just let you know i dont want to reply anymore thank you

Once again, I hope you are right my friend!
Peris, you should calm down a few levels, there is no need for hatred and anger between us on this forum.
Personally, I'm not here to fight, and "punk" has always been a gentleman.

My MP is Al Ehassi. Just wrote to him. Met him during the Summer too and he said that the Senate won't obstruct but might make some changes.

He said the Senate won't obstruct, eh? That's good news :-)

Thank you for the info MarceauBletard

I trying to get in contact with immigration I have been 4 years in this country but on 2012 I left for more than 6 months :( and my brother pass away on march 9th 2016 my PR was expired and I applied for a renewal on sept 21th 2015 and I still have not hear from them since all I had was a letter from immigration saying that my case went to a secondary review and I would really like to go home for xmas and see my family and see my brother.

The other question that I have would be if I am able to apply for citizenship with an expired PR?

regards,

Yes he definitely said that the Senate will not obstruct....but that they might want to make some changes...did not elaborate on that ....I got the feeling minor changes...we had a one to one meeting so if it was a major thing he would have said more

Personally, I don't see how you could apply for Citizenship without having your PR in order first...
