Royal Assent is immediate after it passes the Senate.
The problem IS passing the Senate.
As you can see with this other Bill, Bill C-4, it's been amended like C-6 and has been waiting in the Senate since MAY 17TH and considered only once on MAY 30TH.

This scares me a little.

I think C-4 is quite different from C-6. The government completely rejected Senate's amendments on C-4; while accepted most of the amendments on C-6. C-4 is quite likely be send back to HoC for more amendments, while C-6 would most like pass the Senate without further amendments.
C-7 was in a more similar situation, but it still took 2 weeks. sigh...

Phew! I'm glad to hear that! I hope you're right, mate!

You all got to chill out. The Senate currently only has two government bills to discuss. Why should they in any way feel rushed to pass them? Bills go through waves, I think by now you should all see that. Once the bill was on the HoC agenda it was done in no time. Obviously the Senate spends the first half of June mostly debating things and then gets into a voting frenzy at the end of June.

Chill. Chill. Chill. And don't try to read something into everything. Lean back.

I think the Senate should be able to pass the bill, since HoC accepted a key amendment (children under 18....); the age bracket for language testing and the legal verbiage adjustments are not major factors (as far as I see). I don't think the Senate members who supported the age amendment would want to jeopardize a bill they are fighting for.

Ok in this day and age why can't there be a app based way of saying a yes or no..WTF is the whole standing about registering votes..so unproductive way of doing things..or maybe only time aan MP will be seen by everyone else in the Hoc or Senate

Legacy of the english parliementary system. In other countries they just have a yes or no button, works 100 times faster

Voting started at 15:16.

Introducing voting machines to the HoC would have bigger impact than introducing the steam machines into industry.
Just completed trade related bill voting was 213 - 92. C-6 results will be about the same.

Bill C-6 results are 214 - 92.

Votes for what?
