whats the latest news?

Seriously, it is exactly how she describes it: If the government had accepted her amendment, the Senate wouldn't have had to do it. If people had listened to her, this bill wouldn't have been stuck in the Senate that long. She is absolutely right with what she says and with pointing out that issue.

Jenny Kwan is one of the last people we should criticize. She is a strong supporter of our cause.
Point taken..

Kwan put down the hammer in her speech. In the end she said:
"And I am happy to finally see this bill pass, both for the Citizens out there whose rights are strengthened, and for those non-citizens out there who have been waiting for this bill to pass for a long, long, long, long time."

Jenny Kwan is straight to to the point no irrelevant unrelated points or deviation.

I didn't know she lobbied to push the bill forward in the senate.

Yes, as much credit as Omidvar and Co. deserve, it is sad that she hasn't been noticed that much in this forum.

The CON MP talking now says the language proficiency is an integral part of the Canadian citizenship while he himself has poor proficiency and struggles in reading the documents handed to him!!

They will NOT vote tonight. They never vote that late at night, because many people are gone. At best, they will end the debate tonight and then defer the vote to tomorrow afternoon.
