Just missed it. Was was the proposed amendment to the Bill, can someone please share a link to the amendment details or briefly explain?

"The amendment would include the right of the individual whose citizenship is in question to appeal their case to the Federal Court, without leave, she said. “It would have a timeline attached to it, it would enable the appellant in this case to have access to full disclosure of documents that were used to reach the original decision. The individual would have the right to provide more evidence that may or may not have been available,” said Sen. Omidvar."

Basically, this amendment would remove the provision which allows a single IO to revoke someones citizenship without a trial.

amendments are in lines of changing "written notice" "notice". the whole process is silly wordplay to prolong the process!

That's the "sub-amendment" the cry-baby proposed.

Just to be clear currently, they trying to vote on amendments to the c6 amendment!
Once all the amendments to the c6 amendment are voted on, they will vote on the actual bill C6 after the 3rd reading.

The whole process is complete BS time waste if you ask me! but to quote Ron Swanson "All government is a waste of taxpayer money"

Thanks. That amendment sounds ok. Can't see any issues if they add it to the Bill even if it will postpone the process for another month or so. The most important thing is to keep 3/5 rule unchanged.

Can anyone tell me what are they meeting at 7:34 for??

They voted "no" to the adjournment but someone asked for a recount so they are voting again at 7:34.

If they vote "yes" at 7:30 the vote to approve the amendments will be adjourned till next Tuesday at the earliest.
If they again vote "no" the vote will be tomorrow at 5:30.

keep in mind some other senator can ask for adjournment again tomorrow!

this can go on forever! The sad part is this whole process will happen again after reading of the bill C6 to vote on the actual bill.

let's be a little bit more optimistic :) I believe they can do the routine (motion-vote-1hour-vote) only N times where N is the number of senators. So it should not 'go forever'.

@SenJaffer is there any hope for the amendment to #c6 being voted on 2mrw. Cons are delaying the inevitable but delay seems to be working.
