Big ITA doubt

Hello All,

I am an Inland candidate and received my ITA yesterday but now when i was reviewing my EE profile seems i have made a big mistake. I have around 10 year of work experience and i updated all of that in my EE profile.

Now, i am only able to get the reference letter for my recent 7 year of work experience. Since, ITA would have been based on my 10 year of work history that i updated in my EE profile, how should i go about this now? Has anyone faced this issue before? Please help

You can decline your ITA and your profile will go back to the pool. Once in pool, you can modify your information once again.

Ok, So IRCC just consider the 10 year of experience or more then that? I actually have 10.6 years of experience to be precise.

Not just 10 years, but last 10 years, to be precise. Let's say someone worked for 10 years and took a break for 10 years before applying for EE. No job experience will count in that case.

Either way, you get same points if you have worked outside Canada for 3 years or more. So anyone working 4 years will get the same points as you do.

Things are a bit different if it's Canadian work experience. You score maximum points if you have worked 5 years or more, instead of 3.

Forgot to mention. Only full time (30 hours a week or more) work experience is considered. Else, things get complex.

Don't reject the ITA, recalculate your points for work experience with just the 7 years, if your total is still above the cut-off score, you can still qualify for your ITA. Just write in your LOE that you don't have a work reference for the other work experience.

Hi I have a big issue
I added that I have a Canadian sibling which gave me 15 points. I got ita and now I see I have to show proof of relationship. the issue is me and my brother doesn’t have the same surname because of issues with my mom and dad and my dad name isn’t on my birth certificate. Me and my brothers live together but I don’t know how to prove relationship

Are you a CEC or FSW candidate? You mentioned inland so i assumed you were CEC.

If you're a FSW, then all that matters is you need to have 3 years of foreign work experience to get the maximum points for foreign work experience. Any additional years of foreign work experience does not bring you more points, so there is no effect on your points if you have 7 or 10 years of work experience. Just state in your LOE that you have attempted but have not been able to obtain your work reference for this period.

If your mother's name is on both your birth certificates it should be enough for you to demonstrate your family relation even if you have different surnames. As long as you provide this and proof of his Canadian citizenship and his POA, you should be fine.

Ah, okay. that is a wrinkle.

I think your best bet is just to explain your situation in your LOE, and try to get an affidavit if you can stating you are both siblings. However, to do that you would probably need to provide proof to the notary for them to do the affidavit.

I am CEC. So what you mentioned above applies to FSW or CEC or both? Thanks

It might be the only way, but i would ask advice from a notary first.
