But on CIC's website, it says that you do not need to provide a police clearance if you are residing in Canada. Can I provide now and update it via case specific form?

Yes, you are correct. RCMP is optional for those who are already in Canada. However, CIC officer might ask you to provide it during your back ground check process. Again it is case-to- case. Most of them in this thread submitted proactively to avoid any sort of delay to the PR process.

By looking at your singnature, I was thinking there is a new BG state called "??", mate :D

Yes I am aware of that, that is why I did not submit it to begin with. But I am asking, if I can submit it now using the case specific update ?

Unless or until we come to the status, we don't know what will happen to any of our case. That's why I just marked as ?? :D

All of us in this forum were sharing each other opinions, helping each other with some assumptions. To be honest, I don't know whether you can submit it or not. But I don't see anything wrong to submit as a case specific update. If I were you, I'll get the RCMP Report in hand and submit to CIC as when they asked me, since I was not pretty sure about the process :)

Did you submit RCMP fingerprint report upfront?

Nope. I am CEC outland, but I did not give RCMP report upfront.

This may be the reason your BG status tend NN->IP. All of us who submitted RCMP BG trend is NN->NS.

Hey! I am interested in talking to you. We have same NOC and I will be probably chosen in the next draw March 15th., I have a very specific question for you. I think I have your email. Can I contact you directly??

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, sure. You can email me. If I have the answer that you are looking for, then definitely respond you back.

Hi Friends,

For those whose with "Not Started" BG status, even though the status is showing as Not Started our background checks are in progress. The reason is that one of my friend whose BG status is showing as Not started received an email from WES saying that CIC is reaching out to them for ECA. That means, somebody is validating our files though our status is showing as NOT STARTED. Fingers crossed.

My background check pattern is NN-> NS -> NN and medical passed .
what should i make from that

NN (1st time) > NS --- Medicals usually get passed

NS > NN --- R10 and Criminality checks gets reviewed

NN > IP --- A11.2 gets reviewed and Security also gets Checked.

PPR : Passport request is sent after all above is cleared and ready for Visa

Hope this help you to understand.
