Fsw inland- mostly after medical passed
Fsw outland (processed in ottawa) between 100 and 130 days
Fsw outland (processed at local visa office) within few days, 1 - 5 weeks
I am FSW Outland and my BG is in 'Not Started' status since last 2 months.ibejiopad said:Depends on your category mate

No one can say for certain until PPR is received, but it is probably Ottawa, as most applications. Your waiting time is absolutely normal, check my timeline. My app took 3 1/2 months to start background check.Manju Sagwal said:I am FSW Outland and my BG is in 'Not Started' status since last 2 months.
How do I know which office (Ottawa/Local visa office) is processing my file?
I applied through express entry and submitted my PR application on 10th October 2015.
Also in many cases when it is a local VO, the applicant also recieves a second AOR. So if someone got a second AOR, chances are that the application is being processed at local VO.faith007 said:Wow 100 days.
When you say processed at local VO, who falls under this category. I am outland but i guess my application will be processed in canada?
Are you referring to taking a long time for going from "not started" to "in progress" or the actual "in progress" background taking a long time?andy108 said:I''ve seen cases when BG checks have been very-very long. Unfortunately.
Yes if there is a Canadian Embassy in your country that processes visa applications. If it is transferred to your local VO they would process the complete application along with all employment or other inquiries if needed. Generally though it seems when it is transferred to a local VO and an applicant gets a second AOR, they have passed basic eligibility and any other checks are rare. Also getting transferred to local VO is a good thing because that means your application will be processed very quickly.OhMyCanada! said:Hi guys,
Iam not understanding when you say (processed at a local VISA office), what do you mean? Are you saying the verifications will be done by someone based in the country where I currently live or what? Meaning to say that my file is transferred from Canada to my current country of residence for them to verify, is that so?
second aor? will show at mycic too ?hotshot007 said:Yes if there is a Canadian Embassy in your country that processes visa applications.
