BG check still in progress

Hi friends,

I got AOR on jan 20 under CEC category. My BG check is still in progress, although I saw for other people it changed back to not needed at this time.

Can anyone throw some light on this ??

It's fine, it is the longest stage in the process. Some may have this status for 2-3 months. So don't worry!!

AOR Jan 20th and you are concerned?? My AOR is Oct 6th, CEC Inland, BCKG In Progress... relax your journey didnt even start...

No one knows, there doesn't seem to be a set pattern and is very much a case by case situation. Although some say that when it goes from 'not needed' to 'in progress' then PPR is on it's way. As others have said, it's a waiting game.

I am pasting this post by a member name: live2smile in november aor posts.
I find it quite interesting. I like the observations made here:

"Not needed at this time" means that your BG check went to the next stage. "Not started" means your application has not been accessed by officer yet. "In progress" means your application is started and CIO is checking the provided docs. At this time your meds are passed, criminality/RCMP screening and biographic (if applicable) are in progress. When it changes to "not needed" it means your criminality is completed, RCMP and biographic is completed, security check and eligibility is in progress and coming soon. When your last BG check stage is going to be completed (security passed) it will go back to "in progress" (though it might never gonna change since now) and your secondary visa office will start the final decision based on eligibility. After short period of time you will get your results."
