BG check in progress immediate after medical pass?

yes, my med ang background turned into in process same day....51 days ago....
 
Mine changed even before my medicals turned passed.

My meds passed July 22nd, but my BG check hasn't started. I think that might be because I submitted a RCMP with my application?!

If yours hasn't changed I wouldn't worry, some people have their PPRs and their BG status didn't change from 'Not Started'.

For inland applicants, Background check--> In progress and Medical passed happen at the same time. For outlanders first the medical is passed then background goes to in progress towards the end .

Not true, I'm an Inlander and my background check hasn't started...

Our timeline is same. When did you submitted your RCMP and did your status change to Received from Provided?
