Hey all,

I know now that you cannot get a upfront medical done for Spousal sponsorship, and need to get it done when they request it.

From what I know doctors can be backed up quite a bit, and I know they give you 30 days to send the results.

Since I have no clue how far into the process they request it, how am I supposed to schedule a appointment? I am worried if I schedule one when they request them that it could take weeks to get in.

What is the best way to go about this?

When you get your request to take the medical from CIC and you call a panel physician to schedule the exam and IF the next available appointment is outside that 30 day window, take the appointment and then send a webform note to CIC requesting an extension for the medical explaining the circumstances. They will grant an extension if you have a scheduled appointment.

Just wait the request from CPC-Mississauga. Most panel physician will use eMed to submit your medical results to CIC, and the tests can be done just in one day. 30 days is more than enough for you to get it done.

Depends on how busy the Panel Physician's office is though. For example, the PP in Seattle was booking out just under 2 months when we got it done. This though may be due to Seattle being the only PP in the northwest. The next closest PPs were Sacramento California, Denver, and Minneapolis in the northwest US.

Perhaps there are more options inside Canada

It definitely depends on where you're planning on getting the medical done. The user "jordo" is correct though. Once you receive the request to submit the medical, call up the office near you (or if you live in a big city, you can call around to a few places to get it done) and ask about appointments. Ask for an extension if needed from CIC via webform. I got mine done is a very large city and they took walk in patients for these type of appointments. Good luck.

And you must DO the medical within 30 days..not have the results submitted within 30 days.

You cannot control when the doctors office submit the results..could be the next day, could be two weeks later.

Don't know about extensions.

Check my signature for my dates but tends to be after SA and around same time as PCC request..but it varies.
