It's not a lot. You have to have a good physique and go through 700$ worth training and other certifications. I tried getting into it until I noticed that it's risky and you're liable for a lot of mistakes that you didn't do.
i did not spend $700. i just spend $300 max including training exam n licence. n its worth it. n moreover its not risk job as there is someone to help you. i was a beginner too. i learnt everything in just 2-3 weeks. and any doubt you can call the dispatch for support.

what is the actually procedure to get a security badge there?
so first step is to get trained on security CPR n stuffs, if you go to high level companies like paragon n so they train you for a week 9-5 n the same thing u go to not so famous companies. they conduct class for a day. same thing in 5-6hours. then prepare for the exam n once you clear the exam apply for the licence. so 150+70+80=$300.

my friend got trained from paragon n i got trained from FIRST SECURITY. now we both earn same wage n same position and same company. its you how you wana go.

I think your supervisory experience is definitely an asset but you will still need to go through the basic training to be licensed for the job.

Just try temp/recruitment/employment agencies. There are tons of them in Canada. To name a few Adecco, Express employment , Ranstad etc. Just search for the ones near you and sign up with them. Usually they ask for a resume and make you go through a basic test. They ask for your availability and the type of work you are looking for. This is the quickest and quite reliable way to find work in my opinion. The wage is also usually higher than minimum. You have to be a little flexible with the kind of work though.

True but at the same time, you get a break and start fresh with lots of savings(which is kinda a big motivation) :p
On top of that, you get Canadian experience, references and hopefully a permanent job offer after course, if they like you.

BTW where are you from, which college and course. where are you working now
Thanks for providing info?

That is very true about coops. I remember some of my classmates who went on 4 - 16 months industry placement. They essentially came back with lots of money from savings + work experience. The downside is coop programs that are longer than 4 months makes it a little tough for the student to settle back into school, but it is totally do-able.

Graduated a while back. Will do anything to help international students because I have been on that road.
Currently working in Alberta.

Thanks for the tip.
