Hello Friends,

I am in Canada since last April and a PR holder. I want to sponsor my boyfriend (Indian) but we are not married.

What would be the best options for sponsorship and to be together the fastest :)

Thanks for best Advice.

There are no option to sponsor a boyfriend or fiancee. You must either be married or common law and apply to sponsor him as your spouse.

As MofC2014 said, there is no way to sponsor him in your current situation. You can sponsor him if A) you get married, or B) if you two live together for at least 12 months to become common-law partners. It doesn't matter where you reside to establish a common-law partnership (could be India, Canada, or elsewhere), but you have to keep in mind that, as a PR, you have to continue to meet the residency requirements to maintain your PR. As a PR (rather than a citizen), you also must reside in Canada to sponsor a spouse or common-law partner, so if you live together in India or elsewhere outside of Canada, you will have to move back before you can sponsor him.
