I agree with ManiF on this - don't both shipping your PC/Monitor - try selling it before you leave and buy a new one in Canada. Not only is it cheaper but you'll have voltage issues with the power - so you will need an adaptor. I know from experience that some things (such a laptops) come with built in adaptors but I don't think this is the case with a PC. Not sure how much power they use but I fried a hair dryer and a straightener when I took them from canada to europe and I was using an adaptor.

PCs are fine, there is a switch in the back of the powersupply to change voltage. Normally manufactures of major equipment make universal because they sell worldwide. Hairdryers and shavers and small things like that are region specific.

I wouldn't bring a PC for sure, not worth it in the end. By yourself a nice iMac when you get to Canada :D

FWIW since about 2002 all computer power supplies have the ability to toggle the voltage on the back of the unit from the EU/Asian 220 to the North American 110

I regularly buy computer parts for friends and family here as they tend to be a lot cheaper than in the west. Not so usually for whole computers but parts by a country mile.
