You can transfer through any bank. prefer bank than private transfer companies.

wait for couple of days before you transfer money. cad dollar is at very high rate now. It is falling down slowly. you could save atleast 25-30K bucks.

oh man , you're so right , its currently 57.77( highest of year) , thats what i was thinking , infact i can save Rs 50k if it falls to 55 , BRO, do you think it will continue to fall and may be reach 55 ?

few days ago i sent @ 53.90. 3 days ago it was at 58. So practically i saved 90K

It will surely fall below 55. may be to 53 again ;D. But it might take week. Also, since embassy is on strike, there is no need of urgency. you can wait and save that money.

It might not fall, India's economic situation is what's causing it to increase.

i transferred $13200 + $10100 = $23300 from my bank account in Royal Bank of Scotland ... although the rate on XE.com was 53.30 but the TREASURY RATE for TT wire transfer was taken as 54.60

now if i get the visa i would not be bothered about the exchange rate much, however would want the rate to cross 60.00 otherwise ... lolz

I would recommend you to specifically check the treasury rates of a few banks like HDFC , ICICI and PNB , SBI before making the decision.
All the best.

I transferred using Punjab and Sind Bank. Public banks give better rates than private like HDFC or ICICI.

Yes Delhi office is also on strike. No Idea for how long they would be on strike. May be for 1 day, may be for week or month, nobody knows.

Best of Luck.
