Best 1 year certificate for PGWP and PR

There's an absolutely massive difference between a 1 year college certificate and a 4 year university degree. Surely you must realize that?!?

I've only hired a few hundred people in Canada. So what do I know.

you said employers hire you on the basis of previous work experience and education, there is no difference between a 4 year and 1 year degree as in the end you will be qualified to work in the respective jobs you were being trained and educated for, your experience hiring a couple hundred people in one field in a nation of 40 million does not tell me anything, have a nice day

Let's be honest, no good employer will hire someone with ONLY 1-year certificate and no experience. I say so because I do HR. And what's the difference between 1 year and 4 year degree. Well a lot. 1-year cert and 4-year earn you different points when it comes to immigrate and apply for PR. But before you may even qualified to apply for PR, you need a good job (a NOC 0, A, B job), that's not what a 1-year cert can give you.

of course, but 1 year and 2 years account for the same points, what if this 1 year certificate can get me a NOC B job ? so you're saying employer wont hire me specifically because of no experience ? how is any new graduate wether canadian or not, supposed to get experience then ?

there is no difference to the person hiring, if your superiors ask you to hire for a job that requires a 1 year degree then you are going to hire people with that 1 year degree, not look for someone with an unrelated 4 year degree, i dont buy a word that comes out your mouth, you guys are way too stupid to be trusted with hiring people, you're on some other agenda, get off my thread

i have no will to keep going in my current field of work and to get my degree and work experience recognized in canada i need to pass exams which are impossible to pass for me, so assume that i am a 18 year old high school graduate, what difference would it make wether it's a 1 year degree or 4 years ? since as you said it's all about previous experience and education, what if it's irrelevant to the job you're applying for ? you're not making very much sense

A 1-year or 8-month course has no real value because it can rarely lead to a PR (These course are a scam for international students imho).

To be eligible for CEC PR you have to have 1-year work experience in Canada.
In a 1-year course: You get 1-year work permit, this means after finishing your course, you have to start your job on day 1 and be employed until the last day. You have to be "on the job" 100% of the time.

In a 2-year course: You get 3-year work permit. Which leaves lots of time for job hunting, job switching & lay offs (God forbid). You have to be "on the job" 34% of the time.

gap no bigger than 5 years since H.S, i'm not looking for a specific field, just a 2 year college course that'll make me in demand for canadian employers
