We will see. they might not even ask for the passport, coz they don't have to anymore, since Dec1st for visa exempt countries and somebody from July going through Berlin just received COPR by mail.
But I'm not getting my hopes up to high, if I would be through before March, that would be great.

I'm not sure if there is any correlation between getting AOR and receiving your COPR (since they don't do PPR anymore). But it is a good sign, and hopefully you will receive something sooner or later. I'm sure they have a bit of a Christmas break though. Even IOs get to enjoy German Christmas :p I miss it this year! But I'm glad to be here in Canada with my love!

From what I can infer from the previous comments, they've stopped PPR in Berlin. Would that also apply to applicants from countries who are not exempt from soliciting a visa to enter Canada (like, say, Venezuela ::) )?

No, this is only for visa exempt countries.
They might ask for an updated copy of your passport though.

Anyone on here think about applying for an open work permit under the international experience program for German or Dutch citizens? Spots just opened up...well for anyone under 30!
We are applying for it right now as a back-up plan just in case we are one of the unlucky few who has to wait the 13 months the website quotes to get PPR.

That's a good idea, I did that in 2009, so I can't get another one with an open work permit, but if you have not had one it's a good idea. It's easy to get, just have to have a return flight. Its meant for people to experience Canada, not to settle down, so I don't know if there are any problems being married to a Canadian, but I doubt it. And maybe while they look at it in Berlin, they decide to approve your Pr application instead, who knows.

Hi there you Guys,
Just wanted to let you know I landed Christmas Day, ;D everything went so smoothly and quickly...
I took an Air Canada flight from Zürich to Vancouver with a stop-over in Toronto where I officially landed. Everything went smoothly, just got asked a couple of questions, the Address which was written incorrectly on the COPR was corrected, where the PR Card will be sent to in aprox. 45 days, asked to sign the forms...got a stamp in my Passport :p :p.... then those magic words ... “Welcome to Canada”... went to the next desk, got my Welcome to Canada Information Kit... picked up my Luggage .. went through Customs with another "Welcome to Canada" and off I was on the next flight to Vancouver and my Hubby. Ja Ja Ja ... ;D It was totally uncomplicated and over and done with before I even realised it.
Wish you all the best, will check in here every once in a while... Happy New Year to everyone ..
