Beirut - Spousal sponsorship - 2015

I submitted my app: Jan 29, 2015
got aor: Feb 5, 2015 (7 days)
file sent to VO: Feb 17, 2015 (19 days)
ON: April 14, 2015 I JUST GOT........................

A second aor with my wife's name and a different aor number and different file number saying that they have received the application.
When I log in with the new credentials, it says meds received and says application received jan 29, 2015..

1) what does that mean... are they working on the case?
2) eta on cic website says 18 months for me... is that still true?
3) does anyone have knowledge about 2nd aor

first of all,Congrats Lizzy .
Hilda and Chadi I feel ur anxiety..it's been three weeks for me too since I submitted the passport..I called and they told me it usually takes between 2 weeks and 2 months !
but CdnandTrini is so right..this is the most nerve wrecking part of the process..
I hope it's easier for everyone else ..As Hilda11 said it needs a whole lot of patience I thought I didn't have..
so maybe the length of this process did do me some good

No worries Iloverawya ..this is the normal procedure..they first send you an acknowledgment of receipt,then in another email they will tell you that you are approved as a sponsor,so the application is now divided in two:the first is your sponsorship which is approved,the second is your spouse PR approval ..this is the long part and this is where they need to check her credentials and medical report and police certificate and the genuinity of your relationship...

finally i found a thread related to Lebanon Beirut, i applied to immigration on January 2015 through express entry as a federal skilled worker with 369 points, do you think im gonna get lucky soon ? last score was 469 points

It is soo nerve racking because I can almost feel like this process is over but its not. Its been 5 weeks now since she submitted her passport which is longer than the 30 days they said it would take.

Is there any reason that it would take up to 2 months? Has anyone ever heard of a case where someone was refused or any complications after a passport request?

We did go to turkey together in September for a week to a resort. I didn't inform CIC of the trip, not sure if I should have or not.

Could that affect their decision at all or am I just being paranoid?

Not sure if anyone will have much info to share regarding the fed skilled worker program. This board is about family/spousal sponsorships. I just checked and there is a forum for the fed skilled worker program and I am sure you will find a board for Beirut applicants.

No worries I don't think they would normally refuse a spousal sponsorship if the person has a clean record and is healthy and all.
And no need to inform them about a vacation you took with your spouse ..that would have been helpful if it happened before the submittal of your application. The things you would want to inform them of,is the case of pregnancy or new baby ..
Don't worry ,they r just slow, at this point I got used to their slow processing ..

Chadi Y, it is stressful now but rest assured unless your wife committed a heinous crime recently this is just CIC processing. Usually the final step has to be signed off by a senior visa officer and sometimes they batch them until the person can do multiple applications at once. I believe according to their service standards they actually have up to 12 weeks to return passports so hang in there, it will happen. No worries about your trip, it is not illegal or misrepresentation and Ghinak is right about the things they do want to be updated on.

I have only ever heard of one case (on my thread - Port of Spain) where a person was called for an interview after sending a passport but that is rare and not applicable in your case. So hang in there and let us know when you get the good word 8).....Blessings.

just an update, my hubby submitted his passport yesterday, hopefully it wont take so long.

Chadi have her call, yesterday while i was waiting outside the visa office for my hubby a lady went in to get her passport and when she came out she was super pissed. It seems that the visa was stamped from March 31 and no one contacted her to pick up the passport. She had called and they told her that i was there. so have ur wife call the visa office just to check or have her check the tracking on the vfs website. I can tell you that yesterday just to submit the passport we were there for 2 and half hours, they are super busy so it doesnt hurt to call and check...good luck

I just received the second AOR too from Embassy of Canada in Beirut. It's addressed to my wife and has a new UCI number. Application number is still the same.

It's true have her track her application online. I checked mine during the weekend and the passport should have been returned to me on Friday but I haven't got an sms from them.
Anyway I got it today ..leaving in August

Mabrouk Chadi and Ghinak....it seems they are trying to finish 2014 applications.....yalla good luck to those still waiting for the golden email and hopefully we get an sms soon for pick up bc i want to be in Canada by June..
