Being outside Canada affects the decision of Stage I (Sponsorship Approval)?

Hello,

I am Canadian Citizen and I want to sponsor my wife. I have just send my Sponsorship application. I am living in Egypt right now and planning to move to Canada once obtaining my wife PR status. I have put some proofs to support my intention to move (e.g. Canadian bank statement, job inquiry emails, apartment inquiry emails) . Are these proofs enough. I am planning to seek job offers when the application is getting under process. Can I update the file with the job offer If I get it? Is being outside Canada affects the decision of Stage I (Sponsorship Approval) or just stage II (Immigration)?

Hello!

As far as I know, none of this should affect your Sponsorship approval. After the application goes to the VO, the VO can decide if they need more proof of your intent to return. It sounds like the proof you've included is good! I'm also living outside of Canada with my husband, and I included the following proof:

- Emails between friend and family discussing our plans to return to Canada.
- A letter written by me, discussing my reasons for staying outside of Canada until my husband's PR was issued, and my plans for returning to Canada.
- A notarized letter from my father saying he's expecting us, and that we'll stay with him when we return.

Like I said, once the VO starts processing the application, I think they'll ask you if they need more proof of intent to return!

Good luck! :)
