Hi guys, I have following situation.

Yesterday I received AOR from CIC for my wife & me. However, wife 's AOR reflects her before marriage name which we filled during our PR application in back 2014. During PR process we have changed her passport with married name to Local Canadian consulate in India & got PR Visa & CO-PR with married name itself. After in Canada,we received all Canadian ID proofs with her married name only (e.g SIN card, PR Card, Driving License, Health Card etc). In short, she never uses her before marriage name at anywhere except her PR application. Also, during citizenship app she used her married name with all required supporting doc but don't know why such thing occured.

So I am just wondering how should I approach CIC to update their system with her current married name ? also, how should I connect CIC through phone or request letter ? and when will be best time to contact (means when they assign processing office to my file & transfer to local IRCC office or before that) ?

Looking forward some expert advice on this, so my case wont get unnecessary delay :)

You could fill the webform and on the next page upload one or two documents supporting the name issue.

Hello there, I had the same situation back in August. when I received my AOR it was also in my maiden name (also used on my PR APPLICATION) , although the ID’s and passport that I submitted were in my married name. When my file went IN PROCESS in SEPT, the name on my ECAS changed to my married name. Then the test invite letter was also in my married name. You can use the webform as per advise above to be sure but I think as soon as your file gets IN PROCESS it will change. :)

Thanks for you reply, do you think that it make any difference in your app processing time vs normal one ?

Do know timeline in which they respond to our enquiry ? do you think that It delay my case or ?
Do not make a call as you cannot upload the documents. Also send the old name doc as well as the name changed doc and send a detailed explanation. . Next this is the best time to inform before they start processing. It will not delay your case now. But if you do not report and cross this stage and if they issue FP or test invite then it will delay your case. Using the webform you will get a reply within 10 days or earlier. .
