Hi Gurus

In case a family of residents (PR) completes resides 2.5 + years and primary person full 3 years and after applying citizenship moves out of Canada and gets citizenship, what will be the status and + , - 1 for the dependents of citizen ,if dependents moved before completing time of 3 years?

If other country's permanent residence is taken before applying citizenship by all family (but completed days) , will there be any objections to citizenship?

If a business (consulting, software development) exists from last 3 years , and we move out of Canada but continue to operate company , will that be added advantage as ties to Canada for citizenship?

Thanks for your replies! Appreciate

If the husband or wife manages to get citizenship and then moves to stay with their family in another country, the PR of their spouse and minor children is protected as long as they live together for 2 years every 5 year period at least. When the children grow up and no longer meet the definition of a dependent child, they will eventually lose their PR. Same with the spouse if they divorce. However, under those circumstances, the grown children or divorced spouse could go back to Canada while they still meet the residency requirements and take up residency again and eventually apply for citizenship themselves.

If you completed days and passed the citizenship test, there should be no objection. However, if you fail the test, you may have a hard time making your case that you should get citizenship if you are no longer living in Canada and have gained PR somewhere else.
