Can anyone share their experience with applying for PNP Tech in terms of processing times?

We submitted our PNP application just over 2 weeks ago.

I know thats not very long but my work permit expires 5 March so hoping to flagpole as soon as we get the work permit letter and PNP through - I'm just slightly stressed it will be rejected or not come through in time.

I had a friend last year who had his PNP confirmed only 5 days after submitted his application, and I think I heard 2 -3 weeks is the norm, just praying its not longer!

Thanks in advance.

For me it took 2 days. But I don't think it depends on the candidate, but when the application is read/opened, if anything is missing and how quick it would be to go through the documentation provided. If anything provided is not in English, it may take a little longer as it may go to another person for review.

Keep strong my friend, you almost have it.

Hi experts need your advice
I am graduating in May 2022 in BC
I have a job offer in NOC code 0231
Can I apply under the tech program before graduation.

Do you mean NOC Code 0213?

Yes - this is one of the NOC code included under the tech steam. You can find the eligible NOC Codes here: https://www.welcomebc.ca/Immigrate-to-B-C/documents/BC-PNP-Tech_Key-Technology-Occupations.aspx

Also Yes - you can apply before graduation. However, you will need a valid work permit. And likely you will have a LMIA already completed.

Because it is a new job, your employer will need to describe the recruitment efforts and that they tried to hire from the Canadian market first, before hiring a foreign worker. This is done in the Job Offer form, which your employer needs to complete and sign, which is then uploaded to your application. The company needs to be registered in BC, have at least 3 employees, be in business for at least 3 years, and record a gross revenue of $1m or more per year.

Make sure you read all the available information. The BC PNP Program Guide and Technical Guide are very helpful. They are available here: https://www.welcomebc.ca/Immigrate-to-B-C/B-C-Provincial-Nominee-Program/Documents

All the best.

Hey, I just submitted by application yesterday, so my status is 'applied', will I get an email notification when it is being processed?

No. When you submit your application and when it starts being processed, the status doesn't change. You status wont change from 'applied' until the application review complete.

When it is approved you will receive a notification from IRCC, indicated that your express entry profile has received a nomination from a province (provided your PNP is linked to EE). You can accept or decline it from your EE profile.

When you do this, the status in your BC PNP account, will change to 'In progress'. This should then be linked to the status of your EE PR application.

Hope this helps.
