Hi there,

what will happened if I already applied for PR with BC PNP and now get lay off?

Can I search a new employer and will get a new work permit with my BC PNP from my former employer?
Or do I have to apply for a new BC PNP?

If I have to apply for a new BC PNP, do I have to send all documents again, or just the documents from the new employer?
If I will get the new BC PNP, do I have to apply for PR again or can I just send on the new BC PNP to the embassy?
Thanks a lot for your answers,

Lucky Luke

BCguy I already sent you a PM. Did you find it?

Normally ,you need to withdraw the application if u don't want to continue but if your current employer supports you during your layoff period until end of nomination then continue with the same employer otherwise transfer your employer and let the immigration know about your new employer.

We just got a new joboffer and were rejected for a new work permit (LMO) because of the closing of the company. To many other ppl are layd off. They got to go first. Our nomination officer will not withdraw the nomination. We've our file# already and medicals done, just wait for PPR request. Doesn't matter to them... No exceptions for a work permit with just 3 to 6 month. Then we tried to pass the job on, to someone we thought he would be happy to be back at work- didn't want it! How can that be? We want and aren't allowed- they are allowed and just take unemployment as long as they can. What a pitty!
Everyone just recommeds to keep quite until the PR pprocess is through... Do u have received ur file# yet? Hope, if u don't find a new employer, that u have enough saving for a long waiting period... Waiting sucks, but under that circumstances- it couldn't get worse- that's waht we thought- until our landlord terminated the contract we... but that's another story! whish u good luck hoewever u decide!
