BC PNP - Lay Off

I applied and received a BC PNP nomination and then applied for PR under the Express Entry Canadian Experience Class. I have also sent in my BOWP as my nomination was not employer specific and I am currently on an open work permit.

I got laid off at my job last week. Do I need to inform anyone at immigration about my change in circumstances?

You should email and tell bc pnp regarding this situation. Usually they give you 2 weeks to find another job under same noc . If I was in your situation I would keep quiet and find another job. Express entry is really fast process so

Thanks for the reply! I’m really worried if I contact BC PNP and inform them that I got laid off they will withdraw my nomination and cancel my PR application. Does that happen even if your PNP nomination has been finalised and your PR application is in progress?

You are supposed to tell them . They will give you 2 weeks to find another job under same noc code . If you cannot find another job they will withdraw nomination. When did you applied pr ? Under which noc?

I applied on the 9th Jan. I’m under NOC A.

Would you advise not contacting them and hoping that my PR application is approved?

You can do that but sometimes when you do landing at border you are in big trouble because they always ask about your current job . They can ban you. I would suggest you to find another job quick under same noc and inform them to keep your nomination safe.

Totally understand. I would hope to find another job in the next 4-6 weeks, long before I do a border crossing/land. I’ll email BC PNP tomorrow and explain my situation.

They will not withdraw your nomination right away. They give you 2 weeks to find another job under same noc to keep your nomination safe . If you don’t tell them now there will be trouble while landing as officers always ask about your current job and they always ask about employer under which you had your pnp approved

How do you know they will give you 2 weeks to find another job?It is not stated anywhere and it is impossible to get another job in such a short time period anyway.

I have a big problem if anyone can help me with this. So my BCPNP nomination was withdrawn in Feb25 due to miscommunication, is there any method to have it reopen?? Basically my rep created an email address for this BCPNP application and got the nomination but I never got this email login until very recently. The rep quitted his job and nobody did any follow up on this email while bcpnp sent an email to ask for update employment but nobody saw it, therefore I got withdrawal. Is there anything I can do about it????? HELP
