BC PNP is taking way too long

Hi all,

Just want to give you an update on my current situation, I applied for BC-PNP on April 28th, I received my AOR on May 29th. It's been 16 weeks already, and I still haven't received any update on my application.

I called these guys on August 9th and they told me that the application processing time has now increased from 16 weeks to 5 months, which is completely unacceptable from govt. of BC. For them it's easy to extend the application deadline whenever they want to because I think there is no regulatory body that sees their operations. If you(BC-PNP) guys can't do the only job that you have, why not hire more people?! OR, if you are doing this on purpose, just so that a person goes out of status and then he would have to leave the country anyway, then just give a NO! right away, please stop beating around the bush and ruin a person's settled life.

I am sorry to vent guys, but I am just sick and tired of this kind of life, where your life depends on someone else's decision, and not on your good education, it sucks to be an immigrant.
I want to do interesting things in life from the knowledge I have and thereby helping the human-society, as I love what I do! And, no matter where I am I will continue to do so!! I don't want to chase immigration lawyers, departments and govt all my life.

I have a well settled job here and I work as a Project Manager in IT field and my work-permit will expire in a week from now.

Sick and tired of the system!!

Thanks for the information about LMIA.

Im planning to do the first option you mentioned. Change to visitor visa and just wait for support letter and apply for wp. Even if it goes up to 6 months that would be about 1 month not working. My employer is ok with that. The problem would be if it went longer than that...

The other option is too much bothering and the employer would have to pay 1100$ and lots of paperwork just for 1 month (I guess). Maybe pay also for advertisement on job posting websites.

Anyhow, I'm going to wait 10-14 days before doing anything. (starting 19 week now)

Hi,

i have want help on one question from you. Hope you can help. I checked on your website its written like this--
your standard hours of work,
that the position is indeterminate and full-time (at least 30 hours per week, year-round),
1) So on my offer it state as minimum number of hours i am working is 35hrs/week. But i usually work 37,38,39,40 hours per week . It fluctuate on work load. but i work 35 hrs/ week for sure. So 35hrs/ week work as written on my job offer is fine ?? As i sometime do work more than time notified on job offer that time.

2) And one thing more will you guys consider 35hrs/week full-time or 40 hrs/ week as a full time employee.

3) So at last, Am I fullfilling condition of BC PNP as working 35hrs/ week and consider as a full time employee as it also state on my job offer letter. that is permanent full time position.

Look bro, I don't want to be rude but I don't live in Alberta, this is 'freaking' BC and as far deadline and processing time is concerned it's already been changed twice from the day I applied, initally it was 14 weeks (deadlines are there to help people not to change them based on how they feel like) Why would I care if it's taking 2-5 years in Alberta?! I am just concerned about my life. I still haven't gotten any response from BC -PNP office (it's 6 months now)

I would wish to say that sometimes issues are handled differently. Yours is BCNPN, I would say I appreciate my process was swift and quick. However, I had applied under The Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP) where it is clearly stated that IRCC processing time for Economic Mobility Pathways is 6 months, I submitted my application on the 29th November 2023, I received a confirmation of receipt on the 5th of December 2023, from that day, I log in each day and what I find is my file is being processed.
What may be the problem?
My friend told me, Africans are treated differently unless is from South Africa, could this be true?
I have really been tortured by this process.
