Hello BC PNP experts!

I am only on my way to BC. I studied in Ontario for a year, including 4-months internship and I want to move to BC, because BC's nature blows my mind.

I have just download application package to learn what to expect. I am looking at Nominee Information Form and all the information that I should provide BC with is related to BC, that is if I studied in BC, if I worked in BC, if I have relatives in BC. I would answer NO for all these questions. Does it mean that I will have problems because I don't have any official ties with BC?

Thank you for your help!

From what I understand is you need to either graduated from a school in BC, or have been working or will be working for a company which has registered in BC that you are qualified. Otherwise, chance is slim. It's competitive here like Ontario, not that easy to get nominated.

I would suggest you call them or email them, they respond fast. Good luck :)

Lilbabu, thanks for your response!

Why I am confused is because according to requirements for BC PNP, International stream, a student with education obtained in Ontario is qualified for the program and you don't need any experience, only a job offer from BC employer. But If you check this forms obviously you need something that ties you with BC, either relatives, education or work. And I have none of them in BC.

I also e-mailed them but their answer was very fuzzy...

Was you nominated by BC PNP?

I actually went to their office and spoke with an officer (adviser) before I applied. However, they strongly encourage you to submit your application first, if they have any concerns they will contact you/your employer directly. They are pretty flexible with your experience. You need to proof that you are an asset to BC and your BC employer.

I received the nomination as Strategic Occupations in mid Feb 2012. They didn't contact my employer, and I received the confirmation in 2 weeks. They valued my employment the most since I am under the strategic occupation stream. I have been living in BC for 10 years. I studied in BC, and now working in BC.

Hope you find the above information useful.

Bkkkk,

thank you for sharing your experience, it definitely helped. I guess I will apply and if there will be something they don't like, they will tell me. So far, as I understand, I am eligible to apply, so I will and then see what they say.

Congratulations on your success, you really have lots of ties with British Columbia.
