Hi,

This is with reference to the 2nd Feb 2021 amendments of the BC PNP International Graduate stream:
https://www.welcomebc.ca/Immigrate-to-B-C/B-C-Provincial-Nominee-Program/COVID-19-Updates

The amendments suggest that 50% of the program after March 2020 should be completed within Canada to be eligible for the PNP IG stream.

I started a 1-year program at an approved DLI in Fall 2020 outside of Canada. I was planning to fly to Canada to complete the remaining 50% of the program while waiting for borders to re-open, however, the recent February 2021 travel restrictions by the federal government have made it difficult to stick through the plan (including mandatory hotel stay among others).

Do you guys recommend would it be wise to reach Canada ASAP and complete the rest of the course within Canada (This doesn't make too much sense tho as the federal government is not appreciating travel at this time) OR should I wait and see if this ammendment revises? (My thinking is that this might be revised as it is too early for them to think about students who will graduate in Fall 2021 and apply for IG/IPG).

Please advise.

I would have definitely recommended you stay back for greater good however, this situation is very tricky and unavoidable. I am also in a similar situation, started classes online from Jan 2021 and looking forward to BC PNP IGP stream. Therefore, speaking from my experience, do not risk this and start your classes from Canada as early as possible. Even to be claim points in CRS, 50% education should be done from Canada. So the risks are even greater to loose PNP as well as CRS points. If you think PGWP would be enough then there is no issue in remote study but for those in 1 year program, will only end up getting 1 year of PGWP and this 1 year will not be enough for CEC points. so in the end there is a larger dependability on PNP.
