Hello. Could you share when did you get your support from HR? I have just joinned PHSA as fullt time permanent employee after working for one year as contractor. Hopping to get support for BC PNP.
Hi David,
Apologies for the delayed response.

I got the support back in January 2024.

I hope you get the documents/support soon from PHSA. All the best!

Hi, may I ask you where did you find this info? Were you informed by HR? I am trying to understand if they are going to change the criteria of the health authority stream to accept only healthcare professionals. Thank you
Too many non-health professional admin and non-healthcare professional staff were applying when the scheme was meant to attract actual healthcare workers. Most places is case by case assessment.

The scheme was never ment to attract only actual healthcare workers. There is a specific healthcare stream with that purpose. The HA stream was intended for critical HA employees from any occupation, not just healthcare. There are plenty key roles required to run the health system which are not direct healthcare occupations, mainly those who develop the infrastructure to expand and maintain hospitals, clinics, facilities and buildings. The issue was the use of the stream for non critical roles, for non high skilled workers.

It was actually trying to attract primarily healthcare workers because that is where the shortage is.

Hello. I am about to apply for BC PNP HA Stream. However, my work permit will expire end of August. Would I be able to get support letter in time to extend my WP?
Any insights on this process? Do HA provide LMIA in these cases?
Thank you
