Hello,

I want to apply for the BC PNP Skilled Worker Program. I have a job offer as an Industrial Electrician. Is a Canadian trade certificate mandatory (Red Seal)? I found contradictory statements. The NOC-description says it is voluntary (https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/Structure/No...2DFGkRgZ/NqN79S6CTdLaUmtlDk3GhIExaEsVSa1C8HCi) and at workBC it states: “it is necessary to hold a certificate of qualification from the Industry Training Authority or be registered in a four-year apprenticeship that will lead to qualification“ (https://www.workbc.ca/Job-Seekers/Career-Profiles/7242#job-requirements). Does anyone know if I need one or where I could ask?

Thank you so much for your help!

Janine

You don't explicitly need a Red Seal to do electrical work in BC but you do need a recognized Trade Qualification (generally Red Seal) to have authority to pull permits, make declarations, or be named as a Field Services Representative. Your employer should be able to tell you if you'll be authorized to actually work in BC as an electrician.

For your purposes, I don't think that the Canadian certificate is mandatory for the PNP.

brother can you please help me.

is person gets extra points in pnp if he has red seal certificate.

My situation is like that
i have bachelor degree in hotel management and i calculate my points for PNP and it is 64, which i think not sufficient.
