BC MSP Coverage

Hey all!

So I think I might be getting something confused.
My spouse and I have applied for Outland- common law sponsorship.
He's been approved as a sponsor, and we've received our first AOR.
I have MSP coverage paying 75/month.
Am I eligible for the premium assistance?
or is it just being covered what I thought being at this stage meant I had a right to.

My spouse also has health coverage through work. So does that mean if, I got added onto his, since the woman at BCMSP I just called told me I could do that since we're at this stage in our application, does that mean I'd stop paying MSP?
-On a student Visa till 2019. if that matters.

No, why would you be qualified for premium assistance?
you are already paying $75 for yourself because of your income level.
Since you said you are paying $75/m, I assume you make over $42000

When you add your spouse to your MSP plan, you'll be paying $150.00

You won't be allowed to income assistance. However, I think the agent over the phone meant if your sponsor's healthcare coverage through work covers spouses and common law partners, then your MSP premium can be attached to his account and potentially you won't have to pay your $75/month.

As said above, the MSP person meant that you can be added to your spouse's account as a dependent. If his employer pays the whole family's MSP premiums (which most don't), your MSP would be paid by them. If his employer doesn't pay family premiums, then your MSP premium would be deducted from your spouse's pay.
