Hi,
I plan to apply for Canada immigration. I have IELTS score overall 6.5 which will be expired on 19 March 2013.when would be the education credential assessment start? If my IELTS gonna expire in 3 months’ time, can I apply for the same. Do I need to write IELTS again once I passed education credential assessment? And when do you start to receive application for federal skilled workers category.
Thanks and waiting for you favorable reply. May God Bless you!
As per the below information, Could you please let me know whether I am eligible to apply for this category?
Age- 29 years
Education- Three years Diploma in general nursing from India
Work experience- 7+ years of work experience.3 years in India and 4+ years in Saudi Arabia
Language skills- IELTS overall 6.5 and 6.5 in each module
Spouse’s education-(No IELTS at present ) Diploma in general nursing from INDIA with 8 years of work experience and currently working in Saudi since 2008

FYI, Canada doesn't accept 3 year degrees for nursing. You must have a 4 year degree. You will need to look into a bridge program to obtain your bachelor's before you can practice nursing in Canada.

Hi Amlkety,

I've applied for pr under fsw in Apr(2010). I'm due to get MR soon.

I also have completed 3 years diploma in nursing from India.

If canada doesn't accept diploma holders then i'll b jobless

Please suggest me what to do next as i'm totally clueless.

Thanks & Regards

I would contact a school directly and ask what their requirements are. I would also ask IF they accept US nurses with a 4 year degree without a bridge program. The reason I suggest that is because a 2 year degree is common for nurses in the USA, then they complete their courses online to get the 4 year degree. Meaning you could do courses online while you're waiting for your COPR.

You can also ask about working as a Medical Aide until you complete the requirements.

Here is one such school:
