Barcode not attached

Hello everyone,

What happens if someone forgets to attach the barcode sheets? Would CIC return thr documents?
Your help is much appreciated.

Hard to say, if all the bc's are missing there's a very good chance they will return it.

if you have done the application on line all the barcode does is validate that you have answered all the questions. Validating the form before printing makes sure that you have answered all the questions. This will help you to avoid delays in processing your application.

There are all kinds of applications done by hand without the benefit of barcodes.

Each barcode is unique and when validated the data is captured. The barcode is used to scan and automatically upload all of the data in the form into their system as well which is why they request it placed on top of the forms.

I will not be surprised if the application is returned.

Thank you so much everyone for your response. This was a question that a friend had. Her husband had not submitted the barcodes so she was wondering about that. They had asked a lawyer which had advised them, it wasn't going to be an issue. That's why I asked the question here because the guide says to put it on top of the form. I guess, they have to wait and see what happens.

You'll be fine because I validated some forms and not some and my application was process just fine its mainly to ensure that no questions are missed and like some said they scan the codes to put the info into the system not sure about that because they do scan the actual forms as well remember some of the forms have signatures on them the barcodes obviously won't capture that, the application will be fine.

Yes, they do scan the actual forms, along with everything else submitted to create a digital copy of the application.

But from what I've read, the barcodes are used to automatically upload the data into their GCMS system.

If your application wasn't returned then maybe this one won't be either. But, if you get a visa officer having a bad day and not feeling like entering the data themselves, it could be returned.

How many times i can validate generic application form IMM008, at same time , I make it validate today and bar code comes for may times extra others. what its effect will be in cic system? what to do

This is the first time I've ever heard of barcodes being any issue with my forms I didn't have all the info at the time so I type in what I had printed them and fill in the missing portions by hand and I had no issues with the forms not being validated I was approved as a sponsor and file already transferred to VO. There's no rule stating that they have to validated.
