BANKRUPT.... SOS!!

I have a closed work permit until December 2014. My company went bankrupt yesterday, we didn't know anything...
I do not know what to do.
Can I stay in Canada until December 2014 or do I have to leave?
Can I apply for an Open Work Permit?

you already have an open work permit...relax and find a new job...you can stay until dec 2014...no issues

sorry my bad..did not read it properly...but you can still stay...problem is you need to find an employer who will get you an LMO and eventually a new work permit

You don't qualify for an open work permit.

As dbss explained, once you find a new employer, that employer will have to obtain a new approved LMO and then you will have to apply for a new closed work permit.
