I am working in Australia as a Credit Risk Review Analyst in a Credit Union. I did by Bachelors and MBA from Australia so i got the job on the base of that but normally one who does not have a degree will have to do same small courses before they can start working in a banking industry such as Certificate 3 in Financial Services. I think we will need to do some certificates like this to be eligible to work in Canada.

Cheers
Saki

Hi All,

I got a mail from my friend (collegue worked with me) who settled in Canada 6 years before!! He was a Senior Manager when he resigned from our Bank. He told me initial days he worked with 2-3 banks on temporary basis as teller. Also worked in Cash Management Dept. as well!! (Job was assisting some guys who uploads cash in ATM!!) then he did some finance diplomas there (eventhough he is a post graduate plus CAIIB - Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers) Now he works with XYZ Bank (he did not want to reveal the name of his Bank in the Forum... so am not able to reveal) in Middle Management Cadre. He says that in teller cadre he got comparatively more than what he received in India...

I didnt got much info from him and he assured me to write me in detail.... regarding which course we have to study, bla bla.... He is in Toronto.....

Will update you guys

People,

I have checked with one collegue in Edmonton area I had checked jobs for adjudication -meaning loans underwriter ... for which he said that need to try with big 5 banks... also these jobs are mostly centralized if we are working at branch level then there are mostly sales and marketing jobs viz mutual funds, salary accounts etc etc....

Also as per him need to get entry level jobs like tellers and later the bank helps the employees to move fwd along with education to higher positions if found good on jobs...

Also i want to know what kinda of jobs are available with financial companies which represent some banks eg ATB etc in case you have some data pl share the same....

Hi friend,

I also got same kind of reply from my friend. Like first we have to join in teller cadre.. after that if you prove your metal.. you will be promoted soon.. say within one year... Anyways I feel that we have to take Canadian banking qualification as well... Like CAIIB from IIB. Any idea about that??
