i was reading somewher on this helpful forum and i read somewher that VO's call our banks and ask for information bout our accounts if we really have money. Is it really true and is it allowed by the laws of the land. Coz i thought visa officer or no visa officer no one can just have that information without my consent

In the worst case they may call the bank and ask whether the account number which is provided is a valid one or not.It is against the law asking for total amount of money in account.
