I want to apply as skilled worker. To qualify as a family I need Rs.2000000 twenty lakh rupees as proof of fund. I will be able to arrange this amount by selling my assets or borrowing it from someone. For borrowing I need how long i have to maintain bank balance of Rs. twenty lakh for proof of funds.

Kindly advise. If the period is small I will be able to borrow it otherwise I have to sell my assets. Thirdly at what time this bank statement is needed? Kindly advise me the procedure with minimum period.

A three month bank statement is mostly sufficient, how ever an updated statement can also be asked for when required.. It is advised to keep your statement maintained till the final decision has been made.

Statements and Fund maintenance certificates are required when submitting full docs to the respective Visa Office.

Dear Tariq,

Proof of fund will be required when you submit full document to local visa office. Bank statement should be 3 or 6 months old.

you have to manage funds till PR issue. I have heard on this forum at the time of Medical and PPS request sometime local visa office request fresh back statement too.

Hi Tariq,

You will be required to show statement in the second stage. Normally CHC does not ask you to show funds for last 3 or 6 months, mostly applicants just show the balance statement from the bank which shows the current balance only as many applicants borrow money and put it in the account just before taking out that balance statement in this way CHC does not know that the funds in the account were for only few weeks or days. But the best thing is to show atleast 3 months statement so that CHC does not question you later on this.

You can sell your asset and provide the statement to the CHC explaning them that you got this big amount by selling your car etc and they will accept it. If you apply now you will be then sending your bank statement in 3 months time. Sometime CHC can call you for the interview and ask you to bring current statement with you in that case if you dont have those funds in the account which you showed in the statement it can create a problem.

Hi,

It could take anything between 6 to 12 months. You should maintain atleast the minimum amount required in your account.

updated Bank statement could be called anytime later on after sending full docs.
so its always good to keep everything carried on till the last moment.
