I am a Pakistani student and got admission in masters program of Concordia university in Canada. I have around 25 lac in my bank account( plus a tuition fee of first two semester) but this money has just been added a week ago, I cannot wait for 4 months since my classes are starting before that, can you tell what should I do? Can anyone tell me is it advisable to get a running finance or a loan? What is the difference between them?
( P.S My father also has a property worth of around 50 lac... )
please help

One thing I want u to understand is that , embassy are not really looking at the amount in the account but, the they really want to see how the amount accumulated progressively over six months. In ur own case, do you have evidence of loan obtained or property sold? How do u get the money?

I do not have it, but I can ask a bank to give a loan on the basis of my property..
Do you know any other options? Is running finance allowed in Canadian visa?

A loan should be a safer option..

But i know some one who put 15 lakhs in their account just a week before applying to the visa n got the visa..but he has outstanding academics, so may be finance didnt matter much in his case..

but why to take a risk ?? go for a loan

hey just turn some amount into fixed deposits (f.d). That's it and you have said that your father has some property. just consult the bank and ask the manager to issue sanction letter.( while consulting the bank manger regarding this go with some one who has good relation with bank manager). and fixed deposits have some good impact as they will be in your account for(6 months,1 year etc ...)

hope this helps.

Thnx a lot for the reply..
Bro so you are saying that i should turn my PKR 25 lakhs (almost equal to $25000) into fixed deposit and show this money along with property papers for my bank statement?? How this gonna satisfy IO because fixed deposit means i cannot use it during my studies in Canada??
Also please explain what is sanction letter because i don't think it is applicable for Pakistani students...

I am not from Pakistan, so I am nt aware of the banks there..but on the VFS website they list the banks they consider for loan..

when u apply for a loan, u only get a sanction letter if ur loan is approved by the bank..u submit ur sanction letter in ur visa file..once u get ur visa, u can decide whether to really avail the loan or dispose it

sry bro i thought u were indian student! though did't said to convert whole amount into f.d. just say PKR 10 (5+5 )laks to f.d's. and yes you can use this money but you have to pay interest which is 1% HIGHER then interest what bank have gave you and sanction letter is piece of letter given by bank manager mentioning the amount, col/uni, secutity etc. for more details contact your nearest nationalized bank manager.

I searched the VFS website for Canada/Pakistan but did not found any list of banks, can you help me by giving the link? Moreover is it necessary to get loan from specific banks stated by CIC?
