bank statement duration

Hi,

I looked at the following link where infomrmation related to bank statement is mentioned .

However I couldnt find , how many months of bank statement they require . I have searched on this forum and some people have said 3 months while some has said 6 months . Now the current position is that I am willing to apply for this first week of september and even if I put money in my account I wont be able to show 3 months . I am thiking of a plan to submit them bank statement of 1 month and write a supporting letter where I could say that I would re-submit bank statement of longer duration if requested by CIC as I dont see months/years mentioned on CIC website .

You just need a bank certificate. It doesn't mention that they need 3 months on the document checklist. However, they will ask you later on for statements by then you will have 3 months.
