Hi,

I have received an email from CHC, London. They are asking for bank certification letter. Can anyone please clarify what I must mention in that letter. Although, I did submit bank statements as part of the proof of funds.

Thanks.

Ranade.

Just bank statements are not sufficient for many visa offices. You need to get letter from Bank giving details like account number, date of opening, current balance, etc (details can vary). You need to tell Bank that it is needed for the immigration purpose and they will know what to mention in the letter. Banks may charge you nominal fee to give such letter.

All the best!

Hi Ranade,

If they have ask for the bank certification letter then it means that they wont to confirm that you have the required amount available with you at present which you showed in the bank statement. In bank certification ask the branch to inlcude your account number, current balance at the moment, your name and also the date when you opened this account. Visa officer only wants to confirm that you still have the funds available and you havent borrowed it from someone.

Cheers

Dear Saki,

Thanks for your help and prompt reply. I have collected the letter from Lloydstsb Bank and sent it to CHC as well. The letter expounded the following information: LloydsTsb letterhead including bank's Logo, My name, address, A/C no., Sort Code, Our Reference: My initial+banks particular code, Current balance, the date when I opened the account, the date when letter printed, bank's stamp (I certify that this is a true copy), signature of the manager and detailed branch address if in case CHC would like to make any verification.

Do you think information are ample which I provided them with?

Many thanks.

Hi,

Yes this information is enough you have got everything which can be written on that letter. I dont think you need anything else in that letter. I would say if you can then get a business card of that branch manager but this is not mandatory but i will show that the letter is genuiune.

Hello Saki,

You are doing great job helping others out :). Please could you confirm if it's OK just to send out the letter from the bank? Below is my query in other thread fyi.

With respect to the proof of funds, would a letter from the bank manager stating the current balance do? The thing is we are planning to show the money in our OD mortgage account, wherein, our overall balance would be always in -XXX.XX until we finish off the mortgage. But the available balance can be anywhere between 0 and the total loan amount. We can get a letter from the bank stating our available balance, but if we take a statement, it will also show the current balance in -XXX.XX, and available balance as + 10 lakhs.

Long story short, We can put this money into another ordinary account, but the advantage here is if we maintain the same 10 lakhs in this particular account, we will not pay mortgage interest for the amount that we are maintaining, the 10 lakh rupees. The mortgaged flat is in my huby's name, and we can arrange for a property valuation to back the mortgage loan and sign a affidavit stating that we will sell this flat once we are through with the PR and plan to move to Canada.

Fair enough? Or would it be too complicated?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.
