My application for Independent Immigrant has been approved and we are now waiting for our visa release. Myself, my common-law and my son plan to leave on June 28 since our visa will expire on Sept 10, 2008. In this regard, we are required to have settlement funds of about CND 16,000. Can i bring 5000 canadian dollar and the remaining will be in the form of bank certificate and special power of attorney that my sister will transfer the remaining funds to Canada?

you might have the entire required funds available at the moment of landing, the officer may deny your acces if you fail on this.
