Can someone tell me if we need to show bank statements for three months or do we need a letter from bank stating the bank a/c details and the balance?

Also at wat stages do they ask for bank account details?

Show both the bank statements for 3 months and the corresponding letter from bank - they support each other.

Usually, when they send the paperwork for the medical examination and police certificate(s).

Thanks for your reply. Since I'm applying in the regular quota I need to send all the details including police certificates except for the medical reports right? Correct me if I'm wrong?

Only if you are applying to Buffalo or London, if you have an AEO.

AEO - Arranged Employment Opinion - for Permanent Resident Applicants under the Skilled Worker Program. "AEO only supports the person's application for permanent residency, but will not result in CIC issuing a work permit and does not allow the person to work in Canada before receiving his/her permanent residency.

You might have heard about LMO also, but AEO is different from LMO.

LMO - Labor Market Opinion - for Applicants who apply just for a Work Permit (and not for Skilled Worker Immigration). "A positive LMO is one requirement that CIC considers when deciding to issue a work permit allowing the person to work in Canada."

In my case I just sent the latest monthly bank statement and nothing else. I have already got my PR, so I can tell you that worked. I guess if they need more proof, they will contact you at some stage asking you for more documents.

Send notarized/certified copies of at least your last 3 monthly statements that the bank sent to you, for the account/accounts that you maintain. You can even have your bank's branch notary public do that for you.
